Terry Jermaine Walton

Terry Jermaine Walton was born November 19, 1949 in Selma, AL to the late Willie Turner and Jimmy Barnes. He was the older of two siblings. He departed this life on November 28, 2020 at St. Rose Dominican-Siena Campus in Henderson, Nevada.

Terry was on the track team in high school and won various medals for his achievements. He graduated from Jamaica High School (Jamaica, NY). Terry held many jobs during his youthful years. He shined shoes on the weekends, worked at Mays Department store (NY) and he worked at Mercedes Benz in NY. Terry served our country by enlisting in the United States Army. After the Army, he worked for the NYC Department of Sanitation in 1984. He was united in holy matrimony to Delois Parks on February 21, 1985.

In 1992, Terry accepted Jesus Christ at the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church (Jamaica, NY) under the leadership of Pastor Charles Betts. He was mentored by God, Pastor Charles Betts, late Minister Donald Gumbs, Minister Crawford Hinson, the late Deacon Henry Matthews. Terry was about his father’s business.

After retirement from the New York City Department of Sanitation, he and his coworkers kept in close contact with each other. Terry relocated to Las Vegas, NV. He attended Warm Springs Baptist Church and later led to Calvary Chapel Green Valley under Pastor John Knapp, until God called him home.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother Willie Turner and grandson Prince Jeremy (Prince) Walton.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Delois; three children Iris Parks, Darren Walton and Jeremy Walton; one sister Rosalyn Ford; one nephew Eric Turner; two great-nephews Euneek and Erik; one great-niece Ella (New York); two uncles John Hughley (New York) and Tommy Dale Hughley (Birmingham, Al); three sisters-in-law Annie Parks (Mobil, AL), Deborah Hill (Dwight; Huntsville, AL), Sheryl Parks (St. Mary’s, GA); one brother-in-law Daryl Parks (Windsor, VA); and a host of relatives, friends, and coworkers.

God saw the road was getting rough,

The hill was hard to climb.

He gently closed those loving eyes

And whispered, “Peace be thine”

The weary hours, the days of pain,

The sleepless nights are passed,

The ever patient worn out frame

Has found sweet rest at last.
