Sylvia Wagmeister Schwartz, 97, a resident of Henderson, Nevada passed away May 14, 2013. She was born October 12, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois to Morris Solomon and Bessie Rubinstein. She lived most of her life in Chicago, and was very active in her community with charity work. She worked very closely with the Jenny Singer Children's Welfare League in Chicago, which was instrumental in raising funds to purchase the first Dialysis Machine for children.
In 1979, Sylvia relocated to Las Vegas. She worked in the casino industry until she retired in 1989. Sylvia's was a loving mother and grandmother, whom enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, her grandchildren, and great grand children.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her brother, Sam Solomon. She is survived by her children: Steve (Carol) Wagmeister, Robin (Erwin) Silverstein, and Marc Wagmeister; seven grand children; six great grandchildren; and sister Gloria (Ephraim) Knopoff.
Sylvia will be laid to rest at Palm Valley View Cemetery located at 7600 South Eastern Avenue at 11 AM, Friday May 17, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
