Happy Birthday Dad! I miss you so much. Its been tough since Sunday. Everyone was celebrating and talking about Fathers and all I kept think of was how much I missed you. Well, I plan on celebrating YOU today! I am going to go see you and then I am going to watch Star Trek, and then I will go have some schnitzel. You were such an amazing Dad. I am so grateful for you. I just wish I could have had you longer. I wish you got to do all the things you loved longer. I will always try to remember your life and not dwell on your death. I love you so much Dad. RIP Live long and prosper.

Today is your day... We all still miss you more than ever and I am sure you were there smiling down on us and wishing us the best of luck and all happiness in the world on our wedding day.  We are thinking of you on your birthday, we love you!

Steve was a wonderful person and an even better friend. Steve was the type of man we all strive to be. He was always there when you needed him, more than that you knew that you could count on him at work or at home. As we travel through this life, we meet a lot of people. Most of them are acquaintances, very few are friends. Steve was my friend and family. There aren't too many people like him on this old rock. I was extremely fortunate to have found several in one place. You are missed my friend. I know when we arrive, you will have everything sorted and in perfect working order. Rest my friend and we'll be with you again one day. We'll take the next watch.

I recently learned of Steve's passing, and was sad to hear of it. Steve and I served as Marine Scout-Snipers in the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment (2/7), and we did an overseas rotation together in 1983-84. Good buddy, great Marine and just an all around wonderful person to be shipmates with... 

I looked through the pictures provided here. While Steve's death is certainly sad, there is something wonderful about getting to see the pictures and how good life must have been for him. Sure looked like he was well loved, and plenty of family and friends to love back! We should all be so rich when we pass...

Steve, was a rare kind, & gentle sort. He was likable,funny, conpassionate, honest, loyal and always ready to give a helping hand.  He always played with his children.I remember the red go cart, the way his eyes twinkled at the Star Track Collection & how excited he was when he found one more thing to add to it.  Also when he took the boys to the Dune Buddy Competitions. With God's help we can help Char & Family through this hard time.  They were our adopted family when we lived in Las Vegas.
Steve was way to young to leave us all.

Knowing you as a very young man, I could see your strength in ALL things of importance even then: God, family, Country.  I called you 'Son' for a time, and always felt a strong bond.  You showed that bond and love when your father George passed.  You were there for your adopted family, with strength, love and careing. I remember Steve being so generous, when all the kids had a pocket knife and I didn't Steve went in to the house and gave me one of his own knives, so I could be with the rest of the kids, which I still have to this day and will always remember.

My sincerest condolences on your loss of Steve. What a strong yet gentle, kind, courageous and devoted gentleman--devoted to family, to his work, and to his country. A pleasure to be with to see his enthusiasm with a warm smile and a generous heart, a pride in what he had accomplished and in his family, and a most gracious gratitude for that which was given to him. A hard and devoted worker with a deep knowledge of the fountains which still thrilled him and which will always be a testament to his beauty, strength, and grace.
 
I salute your veteran. My deepest sadness for our loss, gratitude for his service to our country, and appreciation for the time I was able to spend with him and the trust he had in me...a mutual respect and admiration.

As i view the pictures and the video of your pictures it brings it all back to me. All of the wonderful loving fun memories of you and all of us and the times we shared. Some of them I feel that I own those moments. I love looking back at these picures and have many of them myself I am not sure what I will do with .

i think we all say the same thing "steve - what a great guy!"   i will miss our friendship & the routine visits. i still watch the front door at the end of my shift looking for my friends, to hear about their day, current events, and corny stories from the past.  i was fortunate to know you and call you my friend. you will forever stay in our hearts. till we meet again my friend . . .

My memories of Steve were of a gentle giant with a great sense of humor who had the greatest Star Trek Collection known to man. He wore shorts in the winter and had this great love for Char. There was a surprise birthday party for Mena and I remember glancing at the kitchen area of the home and there was Steve and Char smooching. It was such a tender and sweet sight, especially for a couple that have been together as long as they have. He and Char complimented one another perfectly, she would do most of the talking and he was happy to sit back in silence and let her take the reigns.
This is a tremendous loss, gone too soon and so young and I am so sorry for Char and his kids, family and friends for their loss. I send love and light to each and every one of you as you try to work through this unimaginably difficult time.

I have memories

They are stored in bits and pieces and make a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories, like so much other stuff I keep there.

I didn't know Steve very well but what I knew I liked.  I'm sure he was an amazing man, friend, father and husband.  My heart aches for those he left behind.  Although time may lessen the pain, his memory will live on forever with his wife, children, family, and friends.  Char, Michael, Jeanie, and Carrie, keep his memory alive and in your heart.  Let your memories give you strength and bring you some peace.  Love you all.

I could not have thanked him and Char for every thing they did for me and my family after my sisters accident in Las Vegas.   We will miss him and our hearts go out to Char and his children for there loss.  Steve would help any one and never expect anything in return.  Cant find many freinds like him.

This is crazy. How am I never going to see you again? I can't fathom that. You had so much more to do, so much more to teach. Max needed you. I needed you. I still sometimes go to call you, ad then the pain and realization kick back in. I look at Max and think that it is just wrong that he will never really get to know you, and who you were. I can only teach him your values and what you stood for. I can tell him all your stories. But it won't be the same. I'll do my best at teaching him to fish, but that might be a joke. Remember how bad I was, casting straight up. You were the world to me, even if I didn't tell you often enough. You were my hero.  You still are. I miss you so much there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you and cry. I love you.

I still can not believe this... I lost my father an now I have lost my step father :(.....  I'm glad to have had a step father like you..... You were a lil softy :-) you just wanted us all happy an I'm glad that you met my mother.... Thank you for loving us all an I hope your having fun in heaven drinking white Russians :-)

I am deeply saddened by Steve's death. He was a true friend, a no nonsense person. He was an honest, sincere, ethical and high moral person. Most people don't know this but he had a great sense of humor, many did not get it but I did. I wish I could have said all the wonderful things I am thinking right  now to him. Steve was a true leader and a great friend I will miss him dearly. I still cannot belive he is gone....

Steve,  I am trying to think only happy thoughts  and happy times these days...... however; it is so hard to do when all I can think  is why did you have to leave?  I am trying to remember you are in a better place with better plans ahead, sadly I miss you here!!!  We had some great times together and I will always remember you in my heart and my prayers.  Remembering you here with us morning noon and night, it only makes me smile knowing your still in my heart. I try to hold back my tears everyday, it's hard then you would think! Your pets and I fight over your side of the bed, Dallas still comes over on your side of the bed and puts his head down for you to scratch him, Rose she is still looking for you under the covers, the cats have taken over your clothes on the floor as their new beds, and me I am trying to take it one day at a time and it's really really hard, I keep seeing you on the couch and smelling your cologne throughout the house, so now I actually spray it in the mornings, so when I come home it seems like you had just left for work as normal.  It's 1 am and the dogs and cats are still sitting at the front door waiting for you to come in and give them their treats.  I miss and love your every day....Love Char

Its been one month today since you left us. I can't believe a month has already come and gone. I miss you so much everyday. Max is sick today, please watch over him. It's so hard here without you. There have been so many times that I have just wanted to call you. I miss your voice. I want to go see you today, hopefully Max will feel a bit better later and we can go visit you. I feel you around, but it's not good enough. It hurts so much knowing that I will never see you, or feel your hug again.  Everyday almost, I see some sort of Marine sticker on a car, or a license plate holder like the one I got you. It makes me think you are just saying hi. I miss you Dad. I love you forever.

Steve......I will never forget you. You always took the time to come visit me in my store. You always took the time to eat dinner with me. You always brought me dr. peppers when you had them. You always brought me candy when I needed the sugar. You always bought your mom cards to send to her. You were always so thoughtful, kind, and a great listener. I am so thankful I was able to work with you for 7 years. I will never forget your kindness towards me. I still am mad at you guys for prank calling me from the boom during the changeout!!! Hahaha!! You guys got me so good!! lol! The world lost an amazing man, an amazing person! Life seems not fair, but god needed you more than we do here on earth. If you know my dad in heaven will you tell him I said hi? We get so selfish here, but it's god's plan in the end. He doesn't give us more than what we can handle. You have fulfilled your duties here and god has called you home. We will see you again. This isn't goodbye, but it's "see you later"! That's what my dad always told me. I cannot believe that you are gone, but I hold onto the memories we have shared. There are so many! Thank you for showing me how to make the water show go and thank you for letting Cole and I go out into the lake. Every time I see a duck I still think of you and the front feature guys! You are so greatly missed. Until we meet again.......

I remember the dayâ€¦
 We met in Jan. 1981 in Modesto you were working at Rafferty's candy store in the mall with Craig Tibbets and his mother Carol. I was there at the mall goofing around as young girls do and I stopped by the uniform shop to talk with a friend Debbie that you knew as well from there and you and Craig flagged me and my friend down as we walked by and gave us free candy and invited us to a party that evening at Debbie's apartment.  I remember after finally getting there that evening to the apartment two young men had followed me and my friend and came in with us. You were there just dancing around to the music and being footloose and fancy free with out a care in the world it seemed.

Wow !! I have at least one of these pictures from the years he was a marine I knew him prior to hom going in as well as the first few years he was in the marines. He was a wonderful, likeable person and will be greatly missed.

Steve, Steve-O, Scuba Steve, Trekkie, Scuba Dude, are just some of the names we called him at the bellagio, he was and always will be one of the best at everything, he was a teacher a mentor but most important, a friend. I have learned so much from him that we still and always continue to do things the way he showed us, and I can tell you that he will always live long and prosperous in our hearts and never be forgotten. He always spoke greatness of his Jeanie, his care-bear, his Michael and of course, his wife Char. It was always great listening to his stories about his family, military and past experiences. He always tried to help everyone in any way he could. Scuba Steve, buddy, friend, you will forever be missed and never forgotten. Semper-Fidelis.

I know In order for heaven to receive an angel such as you, a void has to be left here on Earth.  Even though I realize this, my heart continues to ache for you, but there is some comfort in knowing that you are lighting the paths up above.

Where do I even begin... I have missed you the moment you left. You have always been my favorite uncle. You were always so loving, caring and kind, a gentle soul. I only wish I could have and would have come to visit more often. I still talk about the last trip I took to Vegas with my parents. That was one of the best trips ever, we had a blast. No matter how far away you were physically, you were always close to my heart and always on my mind. I always told myself, "I need to go see uncle Steven." I only wish I had taken a weekend or two to do so. I still have that magazine with you in it. I always talked so highly of you and how you were the coolest uncle ever and showed you in the magazine off to my friends. Everytime I saw anything Star Trek, you were the first thing that came to mind. I am sadened you won't be here to share my wedding day with me, but I am sure you'll still be there somewhere like you said you would. I am deeply going to miss you uncle Steven. I Love You.

Steve will be miss by alot of us. He's a great friend.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Steve.  Steve was a kind and gentle soul.  Whenever I needed help, Steve was ready and willing. I always appreciated the way Steve came to our rescue at our home to help with whatever needed to be done.  I could always rely on Steve to help with any task or ask to use his truck or his tools.  I remember when he threw a pool party and put all sorts of colorful balls in the pool, looked liked giant pool of skittles.  I always enjoyed the BBQ with Charlotte and the rest of the family. Always so much love and fun. 
One of the fondest memories I have of Steve is sitting at the kitchen table having Sunday morning coffee and reading his new paper and cracking jokes, he made the best coffee!   
Good friends are the sweetest treasure. I will always treasure my friendship with Steve and remember the happy and funny memories he created for me.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  Sincerely, Irene Bimel
