Spencer Mark Judd Sr.

He was loved by so many, and held such titles as husband, father, counselor, brother, and

son. No matter the names, titles, or achievements of his life, his favorite was grandpa. He

was born in Ogden, Utah to C. DeMont Judd Jr. and Ramona Faye Judd on February 19,

1964. He was so proud to have been a member of a large and lively family having been born

in the exact middle of eight siblings: RoseMarie, Michelle, Jefferson, Jennifer, Christopher,

Monte, and Rodney. He loved his family and spoke of them often.

Serving others was a main focus of his life and he was proud to have served as student

body president of Ben Lomond High School where he graduated in 1982. Furthering his

desire to serve others, Spencer served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-

Day Saints in the Dominican Republic from 1983-1984. There, he learned to speak Spanish

and was so proud and excited to speak Spanish with anyone who would let him. He studied

Spanish daily for the rest of his life.

He married his first wife, Marsha Ahlmer, in 1985. With Marsha they had four children:

Spencer Jr., Joshua, Candace, and Jacob. Marsha preceded Spencer in death in 2000. After

her death, Spencer fell head over heels in love with his surviving spouse, Jill, marrying in

2002. Their marriage brought an additional four children into his life: Tony, Courtney,

Marcus, and Cole. In 2005, Ben was born and brought even more happiness to his life.

Spencer was delighted with having nine children and was practically begging to be asked

about them. He made no distinction between his children; they were all his and he loved

them without reservation. His family has since continued to grow to include eleven

grandchildren: Avery, Alvin, Jaxson, Olivia, Jemma, Thomas, Hudson, Juliette, Jack, Mac

and August.

He graduated from Weber State University in 1995 with a degree in Political Science.

Spencer was proud to be among the first graduating classes of the UNLV Boyd School of

Law, attending night school and graduating in 2006. His career as an attorney was a source

of so much joy for him. He spent his remaining years dedicated to serving those of his Las

Vegas community, and throughout Nevada. He was known for his hard work, generosity,

and his tireless advocacy for those who needed it most. Those values will live on in every

life he touched.

Spencer was also deeply dedicated to his faith. His lifelong dedication to early morning

study was where he found peace, comfort, stability, and direction for his life. If the sun was

just creeping over the mountains and peeking into the Las Vegas valley, you could

guarantee he could be found reading, pondering, listening, writing, and growing in his faith

in the cool of the morning. He served in countless roles of leadership and service over his

lifetime, uplifting everyone who knew him.

He loved to read and was often found, whether awake or asleep, with a book or tablet open

to a book in hand. He also loved spending time with his family, both on large, loud family

vacations or in small, quiet, private moments of love and connection. He also loved to “lift

up his voice and sing,” and was a member of many choirs and singing groups over his life.

He was also passionate about his sports teams, having been a fan of the New England

Patriots, the Utah Jazz, and our Vegas Golden Knights. He treasured the chance to attend

football, soccer, baseball, wrestling, and other sporting events when his children and

grandchildren were involved. He will be sorely missed.

Spencer is survived by his wife Jill, his mother Ramona, his children, his siblings, his

grandchildren, and his dog Anabell. He was preceded in death by his first wife and his

father.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 27 at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow on

in the Salt Lake City, UT Cemetery on Wednesday October 2 at 10:00 AM.
