On Monday, October 31, 2022, Sharon L Curcio, of Las Vegas, age 70, passed away peacefully with her children at her side. Sharon was born February 10, 1952 in Salem, Ohio to Thomas and Ruth Hilling. Sharon had many careers throughout her life but she spent a majority of it cooking; her favorites were at Ben’s Restaurant in Berlin Center, Ohio with her cousins and for Xanterra at Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Acadia, and Death Valley National Parks.
Sharon enjoyed being outdoors and could always be found near the water every summer, whether it be a lake, ocean, or pool. She had a lifetime of cherished memories spending summers swimming and boating with her cousins Penny and Debbie at Berlin Lake or her best friends Diana and Bonnie while at Guilford Lake. She also enjoyed reading, embroidery, and just spending time with her family and friends drinking a cup of coffee. Sharon also considered herself to be a “foodie” and loved to eat and try all types of foods. Anyone who knew Sharon would easily describe her as thoughtful, kind, and funny—she could make anyone laugh and was nicknamed “Sher-bear” to many.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Ruth (Hagerty) Hilling and brother Stanley Hilling. She was the loving and devoted mother to daughter Danielle Curcio and husband Andrew Hernandez, and son Andrew Curcio and Amanda Bonhomme, all of Las Vegas. Sharon was enamored of her granddaughter Amelia, who in turn loves her “Grandma She-She” wholeheartedly.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for the Spring of 2023 in Ohio as Sharon requested that she not be mourned but be celebrated with a bonfire, BBQ, good music, and great family and friends. Anyone who knew or loved Sharon will be invited to honor her wish.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmnorthwest.com for the Curcio family.
