Seymour Stouber, 88, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024, in Las Vegas, NV, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on June 8, 1936, to Sam and Rebecca Stouber, Seymour's early life was marked by his musical gifts, including his time as a falsetto soprano in the renowned Abe Nadel choir. He was the older brother of Irvin and Bernard Stouber.
As a teenager, Seymour moved to the Bronx, where he graduated from Evander Childs High School in 1954. He went on to attend a printing trade school, developing skills that shaped his lifelong career. A proud member of the International Typographical Union #6, Seymour took great pride in his work and the community of fellow printers he was part of.
In 1956, Seymour enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with honor at the Presidio in San Francisco until 1958. He continued his service in the Army Reserves until 1962, a testament to his enduring commitment to his country.
On June 3, 1962, Seymour married Phyllis Gross, the love of his life. Their 62-year marriage was built on a foundation of love, devotion, and partnership. Together, they raised two sons, Paul Stouber (Donna) of Providence, RI, and Eric Stouber (Monique) of Staten Island, NY. Seymour was a devoted and proud grandfather to Abby Ostrovsky (Alex), Michael Stouber, and Zmira Stouber. He treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, who were a source of immense pride and joy.
In 1994, Seymour and Phyllis moved to Las Vegas, where he worked at the Fiesta Hotel & Casino until his retirement in 2000. He embraced his retirement years, enjoying life with family and friends in the vibrant Las Vegas community.
Seymour will be remembered for his loyalty, his sense of humor, and the love he shared with those closest to him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A graveside service for Seymour will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery, 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
