Rodger M Castelano passed away on April 18, 2024 in Henderson, Nevada. Rodger was born on April 23, 1944 in San Jose, California. Rodger is survived by his son Dennis, sister Sharon King, niece Michelle Sims, and nephew Larry King.
Rodger attended Willow Glen High School in San Jose, California from 1960 to 1962. He also attended San Jose City College and San Jose State University prior to joining the military. Rodger volunteered for service in 1964 and joined the US Army. After basic training at Fort Ord, he was assigned to the Army Security Agency Training Campus at Fort Devins where he obtained the security clearance of Top Secret Crypto Final with Room Clearance. He was then assigned to the 8th Radio Research Unit just outside of Phu Bai/Hue South Vietnam. After completing several secret missions he left Vietnam in April 1965. He was then assigned to the Army Security Agency 17th Det. B Field Station in Handorf, Germany from April 1965 to April 1968.
Rodger moved from San Jose to Henderson, Nevada in July 1999. He obtained employment with Bank West of Nevada. Rodger was given the task of the bank’s central loan center. Rodger retired from Bank West in 2009.
Rodger will be laid to rest at the Palms Mortuary on S. Eastern Ave in Henderson, Nevada on April 26, 2024.
