Robert C Taylor

He was born October 3, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to Robert Taylor and Harriet Isabella McIntyre. He attended Parma High School in Parma, Ohio. At the age of 17 he joined the United States Army and served his country for 3 years Active Duty and 5 years in the Reserves. He was primarily stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington. He also served for 1 year and 4 months in Korea during the Korean War. He was honored for his service with a Korean Service Medal and a National Defense Service Medal.

In 1956 he married Norma Benedetti and they had two sons: Robert Samuel Taylor and Russell Gene Taylor.

In 1969 he married Joan R. Middleton and her three children were added to the family: Gary, Nancy, and Cindy Middleton.

After his Military Service, he trained as a Brick Mason and that became his life’s work. During his time as a Brick Mason, he had the opportunity to work with JC White, who became a lifelong friend and whose friendship he valued up until his last days. After he retired, he worked part-time at the Manheim Auto Auction where he gained two more valued friendships; Tom McCombs and Gene Hall.

He was an avid reader, trivial pursuit whiz, and he enjoyed bowling and enthusiastic card games with family and friends. He also loved watching just about any kind of sport. (Our mother used to say that he would watch ANYTHING with a ball in it)

He is survived by his sister and her spouse, Judi and Gary Perkins; his son and his spouse, Russ and Rebecca Taylor; son Gary Middleton; and daughters and their spouses: Robert and Nancy Kruse and Al and Cindy Belford. He is also survived by 4 nieces and nephews, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by both of his wives, Norma Benedetti Taylor and Joan R. Taylor; a sister, Beverly Stowers; and his son Robert S. Taylor.

He will be laid to rest privately in Washington State. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

He will be greatly missed by all !
