Richard Holmes Lennard was born March 26, 1939, in Harlem, New York to the late Errol Leslie Lennard, Sr. and Lauretta Mae Holmes Lennard. He was called to rest on February 10, 2023. Richard was raised in Queens, New York and attended Jamaica High School. He enlisted in The United States Navy in 1956, where he served our country for four years. Richard began his career as a New York City Transit Policeman in 1966 and retired after 20 years of public service in 1986. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from New York Institute of Technology in 1977. Richard embarked on a second career after retirement as a Real Estate Agent in South Brunswick, New Jersey until relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2006. Richard was a man of many talents. He was a salesman, a carpenter and the baker of the family. He loved to travel and make people laugh. He was affectionately known to all kids (family or not) as “Uncle Richie.” Our family patriarch was predeceased by his older brother Dr. Errol Leslie Lennard, Jr. Richard leaves a loving family to cherish his memory: His son, Richard D. Lennard, daughter, Serena Holtz, their mother Thelma Lennard, daughter, Amina Williams and her mother (his caretaker) Lorraine Lennard, grandchildren, LeRoy Culley, Andrea Culley, Bryson Lennard, Brandon Beasley, daughter in-law, Sonya Lennard, son-in-law Maurice Holtz, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
