September 1, 2021 at Spring Valley Hospital from complications of COVID-19.
He was born February 10,1956 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Josphine and John Stankiewicz. He
was married to Kathy Stankiewicz for 45 years.
Peter joined the USAF in 1975 from which he retired in October of 1995 in Las Vegas. In 1981
he received an Airman’s Medal for heroism involving voluntary risk of life. During his time in the
military he acquired an AA degree from St. Leo’s College in the Arts. After his time in the service
Peter held several jobs including being a project manager at Allen Photo and JM Fulfillment. He
spent 12 years at Diamond Resorts as a project manager and retired from there in February
2019.
Peter loved spending time with his friends and helping anybody he could at any time they
needed it. He could speak to anyone and easily make them a friend. He always had a unique
sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his 3 sons, Chris, Joshua, and Conor; his daughter, Nicole; his
3 brothers, Wayne, Steve, and Tim; and his sister, Chris. His son, Chris, was given up for
adoption in 1973 and just last year was able to find his birth parents.
In lieu of flowers, make a donation to a cause you believe in. Peter’s family also urges anyone
that remains unvaccinated for COVID-19 to get vaccinated. It just may save your life and/or
others around you.
Peter’s memorial service will be held at 11:00am, September 9, 2021 at Palm Downtown
Mortuary at 1325 N Main St.
