Patricia Ann Thomas, 62, of Las Vegas, passed away June 10, 2012, known by her family and friends as just "Pat." She was born Jan. 30, 1950, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Inez and the late Clarence Thomas Jr. Prior to moving to Las Vegas, Pat was a teacher for several years in Sioux City and Des Moines, Iowa. Pat moved to Las Vegas in 1985 and served as a teacher and administrator in the Clark County School District until her retirement in 2010. She is survived by her mother, Inez Thomas of Sioux City; her sisters, Margie Pitts of Las Vegas, Georgetta Faye Greene (Linwood) of Phoenix, Barvetta Palmore (Ronald) of Peoria, Ariz., and Debra Baer (Michael) of Orlando, Fla.; her brothers, Edward Thomas of San Diego, Lester Thomas and Frederick Thomas of Sioux City; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving partner, James Arthur Gay IV; paternal grandparents, Henrietta Thomas-Butler and Clarence Thomas Sr.; maternal grandmother, Georgia Ollison; and her father, Clarence Thomas Jr. The celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., Las Vegas, NV 89101. Arrangements entrusted to Palm Mortuary-Downtown.
