Goodbye Michael.  May you find peace in  God's Kingdom. Thank you so much for all that you have done to help me out.   I will always remember you as a friend  forever in my life.  Go find your rest.  To the family I extend my utmost sincere condolences. Especially you Guadalupe. Thank you and God bless.

Although Michael lived in Vegas and I in London we always saw each other at least once a year. Since first meeting in the mid 80’s we have been friends ever since. Like minded and both degenerate gamblers we both found ways of making a living somehow. Whether it was blackjack, poker, horses, sports or anything that we could find an ‘edge’. We would share our knowledge and pit our wits against the casinos, sports books and later testing our tech know-how online. He had a great mind, very sharp mathematically with an instinct that comes with experience. As a man he could be brusque with a typical New York ‘attitude’. Underneath the serious persona he was kind, generous, witty and a loving family man. 
I will miss you my friend. Visits to Vegas will never be the same. Say hi to some of the other guys you’ll meet.

I will always remenber the weekend in Laughlin where Mike invited hundreds of his friends to celebrate his birthday. We sang the night off and it was very wonderful. Mike and Lupe were so happy, I was there with Paul and our son Louis,  we were all younger, laughing and celebrating life. Mike was so generous with his friends! Thank you, Mike, for all you did for us, for all the happiness you shared!

I have many wonderful memories with Michael over our the 65+ years of our friendship; one of my most cherished memories being when Michael came to NY to make the drive out West when I moved to Las Vegas in 1991. We met in NY and had a wonderful dinner with lifelong friends and then hit the road to make our journey to Las Vegas  in my “hoopty”, an old run down car Sherman had helped me buy. Anyone who knew Sherman knows, I did 99% of the drive. It was snowing in Denver as we headed West up through the mountains. No snow tires, definitely no four wheel drive. Traveling up through the mountains, warning signs signaled, “dangerous roads ahead”. Before we knew it, the winds picked up, the wheels of my car started to spin and we quickly lost control of the vehicle, spinning out into a snow bank. Thank goodness Michael (of course) had one of the first cell phones and called a tow company. We spent the night in Colorado before hitting the road again. The trip was just a few days but I’ve shared this timeless story through the years with friends and family, telling them about the grand adventure with my good friend Michael Sherman, whom I will never forget. May he Rest In Peace.
