Mary Elizabeth Cooper, 74, a truly wonderful and inspiring person and long time resident of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday morning August 10, 2016 at the Wentworth Memory Care Center after losing a long hard fought battle with Alzheimer’s. She retired from the Las Vegas Valley Water District in 2012 after working 22 years as Receptionist in the General Manager’s Office. Mary was known for her natural beauty and amazing smile. She had fantastic sense of fashion and would light up any room with her presence. Mary was born February 21, 1942 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to Lula and Emil Humphries. Mary was the third of five children. Mary found the love of her life in Hopkinsville while waiting tables in the local diner, and was married to Joel M. Cooper for over
30 years until his death in 1995. Mary had a youthful spirit and was fond of being outdoors. She loved hiking and skiing and decorating her house. She loved spending quality time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and they will miss her greatly. Mary is survived by her three children Jennifer C. Lovelady, Joel M. Cooper, Jr. and Christopher J. Cooper, her five grandchildren Dennis Lovelady, Danielle Hinckley, Tom Lovelady, Michael Cooper and
John Cooper. Mary also had nine great grandchildren which she loved dearly.
Funeral Services will be held at Palm Mortuary, 7600 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123
at 3 P.M. on Monday August 15 th .
