Loretta McKinney Harper was born to Willie McKinney and Easter Taylor McKinney on December 27, 1953. She attended Harlan High School in Chicago.
She received her Bachelor and Master’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin.
Loretta worked 20 years at Montgomery Wards and 17 years at CCSD. She was a dedicated, hard worker for her students. She was involved in politics. She was a member of the political group the Miracle Workers.
She leaves behind her husband Andrew Harper and the three McKinney brothers, James, Ozell and Taylor.
