LeRoy Donald Le Veque, 90, of Las Vegas passed away on February 15, 2022 of natural causes. Don was born on September 5, 1931 in Freeport, IL to LeRoy Francis and Ruth Le Veque (Koltoff). He joined siblings Dorothy & Norma. He married Leona Rue (Le Veque) in 1961 in Chicago. Don graduated from West High School in Rockford, IL in 1949. He then attended Pharmacy School at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and graduated in 1955. He loved being a Pharmacist and had a strong work ethic. He soon became the head pharmacist at a local Chicago drug store. He worked at Evangelical Hospital in Chicago, where he met his future wife, Leona. He wooed her with mistletoe at the pharmacy window. He went on to become the Director of Pharmacy at Christ Hospital for over 20 years before moving to Las Vegas, NV in 1979. He worked for Valley Hospital, Desert Springs Hospital and National RX Pharmacy (MERCK-MEDCO). He retired at age 77. In his earlier years, Don enjoyed scuba diving, especially in the ocean, golf and playing softball. He was the king of barbecuing ribs, steaks and hotdogs. He loved his grand-children and spoiled them often.
He is survived by his daughters: Lisa Malmgren, Laura Schackel, and Pamela Tanis (Richard). Grandchildren: Taylore Malmgren, Brett Malmgren, Blake Schackel (Samantha), Ashley Malmgren, Jennah Malmgren, Kyle Malmgren, Adam Tanis, Larissa Tanis and Eric Johnson. Great-grandchildren: Rylee Legg, Addisyn Ray, Dean Schackel, Emma & Mia Johnson.
He is predeceased by his wife Leona (2003), son, Rick (2004), sisters, Dorothy and Norma and pets Bowser, Little Bit and Alex.
