Dr. Larry J. Edwards

Dr. Larry J. Edwards M.D. transitioned from this world to his eternal reward on May 14th. 2024. He was the seventh of nine children born in Opelousas L.A. on March 17th 1947 to Joseph and Felma Edwards.

Larry accepted Christ at an early age. He was a longtime member of Word of Life Christian Center in Las Vegas. He exhibited Christ in how he treated others and his love for his family.

He graduated with an undergraduate degree in Physics and Math and went on to graduate from Loyola Medical School in Chicago, doing a residency in Pediatrics and OB-GYN.

He leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life for 46 years, Dr. Audrey Merrick Edwards, one son Ryan Edwards, one grandson, Kingsley Edwards, four brothers; Charlie (Brenda), Johnny (Ollie), Joseph (Mabel) and Henry Edwards, two sisters, Judie and Marie Edwards. A host of nephews and nieces mourn his loss.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Patsy Mack and brother Lou John Edwards.

Services will be on Saturday June 1st at Word of Life Christian Center. Visitation will be held from 10:00am until services at 11:00am. Intombment will follow at Palm Mortuary.

Larry loved the practice of Medicine and brought generations into the world. He left an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched. He will truly be missed.
