Adopted at birth, facilitated by the Children's Home Society of California, by the most wonderful parents, married over 64 years, a son could ever ask for. Lance passed away being extremely grateful for such kind, loving, caring, and highly supportive parents. Throughout his life, he had a large variety of jobs, most notably, he was in the United States Air Force as a flight engineer instructor, flying on board the HH-60G air refueling Pave Hawk helicopter, belonging to the 129th Rescue Wing. He also served as the operations manager for Warner Bros. Studio Operations.
Lance's life was everything a long life should be, invariably full of joys, challenges, hard work, easy and tough decisions, quiet strength, dignity, quick wit, and love. Lance passed away knowing how much he was loved. He would have enjoyed sharing a couple of stanzas to the song, 'My Way,' lyrics by Paul Anka and performed by the legendary Frank Sinatra:
"And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way
Regrets, I’ve had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exception
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way"
Lance will be buried in the Hinkley family plot located at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery, 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada 89131.
