Kerry Hanks Walters, a longtime resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, was taken too early from us on October 14, 2024. He was born June 24, 1951 in Great Falls, Montana to Doyle and Vida. Soon afterwards, he moved to Newdale, Idaho. He was the oldest of six children and loved teasing his siblings. He had an incredible sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. He graduated from Sugar-Salem High School, attended Ricks College, then went on Spanish speaking Arizona mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Afterwards, he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University. While at BYU, he married Tina Lamola in the Provo Temple. They had 3 delightful children, Spencer, Maria, and Melissa. Kerry was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved learning about the gospel and reading his Book of Mormon. He loved working with the Boy Scouts, teaching, and working on his family history. He was an avid reader, loved the outdoors, especially camping, enjoyed watching sports, going to Disneyland, and his idol was John Wayne. Almost every summer he went to Yellowstone National Park with his Dad. Later in life, he obtained his MBA from the University Phoenix. He loved hiking, being with, and having reading contests with his grandchildren. He just returned from a trip to England, Wales, and Scotland visiting sites where his ancestors used to live. His favorite part was with all the siblings while sitting together, talking, and laughing. After he retired, he served a service mission in the Family Search Center.
