Kenneth Stephen Jones

On Friday, August 26, Kenneth S. Jones, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband passed away in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to Eleanor Jones and Steven White, Kenneth was the middle sibling; born after twin brothers and born before another brother and sister.

Kenneth was the father to 3 children; Marguerite Jones, Kenneth S. Jones Jr., and Dominic Jones. Kenneth proudly served in the Army and worked as a Civilian Contractor with the Department of Defense for several years. In the 90's Kenneth met Rita Jones, they were inseparable. They married in March of 1998. They resided in California, New Mexico, and Nevada. They bought their dream home in Las Vegas and Kenneth worked tirelessly on building an oasis in the backyard, planting trees, growing fruit and vegetables, and creating a place of joy and comfort for himself and Rita.

Kenneth was a zealous student of the Bible. He always had his Bible near and was prepared to discuss the word with anyone without impartiality. Kenneth took an interest in arts late in life. He had no formal training but through his god-given gifts he came to develop his talents, as we are reminded in James 1:17, “Every good gift and every perfect present is from above”. He was an accomplished sculptor, musician, and artist. Kenneth taught himself to read music, he played the keyboard, saxophone, flute, and drums. Kenneth also sketched and was beginning to paint. Kenneth was a long-time member of Mount Everest Lodge #1 of Albuquerque, New Mexico where he rose in rank and became a Master Mason. Kenneth gave 110% effort to everything he did, he was an organized and neat man. Kenneth enjoyed watching action and Sci-Fi movies some of his favorite movies were John Wick and Constantine. He loved the Philadelphia Eagles and enjoyed watching football; He was developing a soft spot for the Raiders since the move to Las Vegas. His most prized passion was his passion for being a grandfather. He loved and nurtured his grandchildren in a way that most of them thought they were the "favorite". He loved each of them uniquely to their individualized needs.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor Pemberton- Jones, and Steven White; his great-grandson, Jackson Thornton Bibb

He leaves the following to cherish his precious memories:

His wife, Rita Jones; Brothers, Malcolm, Michael, and Tony; Sister, Yvonne (Bonnie); His children Marguerite, Kenney Jr., and Dominic. Kenneth leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and second cousins. He also leaves behind his cherished Aunt Brenda and another Aunt Loretta.

Kenneth was blessed to have a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he loved dearly and who were very special to him.
