Kaniala Akoni DeCosta, 19 passed away unexpectedly on March 19, 2025. Kaniala was born on October 22, 2005, in Las Vegas, NV. Even though he was taken from us before his time, he lived his life to the fullest every single day.
Kaniala loved fishing, racing cars, motorcycles, MMA fights but most of all he loved his friends and his family. He was always smiling, laughing and joking around. His big heart captured so many friends, and he always had a way of making everyone around him laugh or smile with his sense of humor.
Kaniala’s sudden death was a shock to everyone who knew him. He was healthy, happy and had his whole life ahead of him. His death is a reminder that life is precious and can be taken from us at any time. We should all cherish the moments we have with our loved ones and never take them for granted.
Kaniala is survived by his parents Priscille Duque (Keith Lauver) and Bo DeCosta. His sister Kailea Duenas. Grandparents: Patricia “Pat” DeCosta, Pat and Aurora “Baby” Duque. Uncle Joey (Dana) DeCosta and Cousin Jonah, Uncle Chad (Merrie-Hope) DeCosta and Cousins Alealani and Raia, Aunty Donabelle Duque and Cousins Arianna, Gianna, and Milana, Aunty Eiscelle (Robert) Paulino and Cousins Roben, Erin, Evan, and Rozelle, Aunty Claribelle (Daniel) Lujan and Cousins Chloe, Nellie, and Daniel, Aunty Clarinelle (PJ) Esteves and Cousins Skylar and Tristan.
Kaniala is also predeceased by his Grandfather Gordon “DC” Decosta.
A funeral will be held at Palm Eastern Mortuary on Sunday, March 30. Viewing at 11 am and Service at 1pm.
