Judith Andria O’Brien, age 64, resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021. She lost her battle with Ovarian cancer. Judy was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 9, 1957 to David and Sally Contour. She was the 2nd baby to be born in a brand-new hospital. Along with her birth came many surprises including 2 months-worth of diapers.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband, James Patrick O’Brien, Mother, Sally Contour, Daughter, Stephanie Salinas-Byrd and her Husband, Shane Byrd, two Grandsons, Lucas and Noah Salinas, Sister, Elaine Nibley and family and Brother, Michael Contour and family. She is preceded in death by her father, David Contour.
Judy was always a free spirit. She loved to pave her own way. She was a woman who knew how to reinvent herself time and time again. Always an entrepreneur. She did everything from medical insurance billing to becoming a personal trainer to becoming a dog groomer until her final days. She gave her all with everything she did. Never less than 100% effort was given. Judy had a love of animals her whole life. Some of her favorite things were sewing, arts and crafts, the beach, cuddling with her dogs, spending time with her family and travelling with her husband. Judy and Patrick travelled all over the world together. From Alaska to Ireland and many places in between. Judy was affectionately known as “Granny” by her grandsons. A name they came up with. Judy was such a bright and shiny spirit. She lit up the room when she was there. Always smiling on the phone and to those in her presence. She held up such a strong front even through all her trials.
Memorial services for Judy will be held at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131 on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 5pm.
