Josephine Honish

Josephine Honish, of Henderson, passed away on June 3, 2022. She was born May 6, 1930 in Donora, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Bozo Brakus and Barbara (Kotlinski) Brakus. She was a retired Navy Commander, a Vietnam veteran, who took great pride in the service she gave our country. She was a member of Henderson’s St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving sister Barbara Holmberg and husband, Richard, of Englewood, FLA; a sister-in-law, Ruth Brakus, and many loving nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Honish; sisters Mary Rock, Alice Rock, and Agnes Pencoske; Brother Edward Brakus; and brother-in-laws Elmer Rock, Michael Rock, and Joseph Pencoske.

Please join us in celebrating Josephine’s life during a church mass at 11am on July 11, 2022 at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, 130 N Pecos Rd., Henderson. Burial will follow at 1:20pm at Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran’s Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
