Retired Local Dentist and longtime resident passed away on the third of May. John Craddock was stationed at Nellis AFB in 1952 as a Naval Lieutenant, serving in both WWII and the Korean War. After discharge he moved his family from San Diego. He graduated from USC School of Dentistry in 1945, and practiced dentistry as one of the first board certified prosthodontists in Nevada. John loved flying his Beechcraft Bonanza N3228Charlie, his sailboat Rubaiyat which was berthed at Harbor Island Marina in San Diego, and helping his dear family friend, Dan Markoff, in the restoration of his 1896 Baldwin Steam Locomotive train. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy Lee; seven children: John Edwin Craddock III, DDS, a dentist in New Jersey; Melody Lee Craddock, a local school teacher; Patricia Sue Craddock, DDS, a local dentist; David Alan Craddock, DO, a physician in Irvine, CA; Bonnie Gay Johnson, a local dental hygienist; Annette Kathleen Logan; Jannette Marie Craddock, a local Publisher and eight grandchildren: Allison Brenda Craddock, Hillary Craddock, Michael Jay Johnson, Kaitlyn Audrey Ann Johnson, Jonathan Patrick Logan, Andrew Ryan Logan, Christopher John Wah Jun Craddock, and Ian Albert Schneweis.
A private family Memorial Service is planned for the fourth of July, and in lieu of lowers, please make a donation to the Nevada Railroad Museum in Carson City, NV.
