Born on September 4, 1964 in Spokane, Washington to the late James Ralph Firzlaff and Betty Firzlaff, Jimmy was cherished by his family and friends in Spokane, Las Vegas and around the world.
A proud graduate of Orofino High School in Orofino, Idaho, Jimmy broke many records in football playing for the Orofino Maniacs. He also was a lover of wrestling and was a member of the wrestling team. Jimmy furthered his education at the University of Idaho, where he earned a master’s degree in Finance. Out of college, he began his career working at Dun and Bradstreet. He then decided to pack up and move to Hawaii where he worked in construction. From there, he moved to and settled in Las Vegas, NV where he ran Custom Rock International.
Jimmy met the love of his life, Jamie, at his home church, Trinity Life Center, in 1996. In 1998, he proposed to her at the altar of the church, and they were married on October 17, 1998. Together they have one son, Trent Thomas-Ray Firzlaff, born on December 18, 2003.
In 2004, Jimmy left the corporate world and entered into full-time ministry as an Executive Pastor and Administrator at Trinity Life Center. Jimmy loved Trinity and remained both a Pastor and faithful member there for 20 years, until his passing. During his time at Trinity, Jimmy touched the lives of many people and truly made an impact through his passion and love for Jesus and for his family.
Jimmy loved the Lord with all his heart and was a huge advocate of the Father’s love, and he did whatever he could to be able to share that with every person he met. He was an amazing husband, father and friend. His passions in life included helping others and changing lives. He truly left his mark on everyone he was given the opportunity to meet. Whether it was through an encouraging word or a spirit-filled prayer, you could never leave his presence without feeling uplifted and loved. One of Jimmy’s favorite places to spend his time was the ocean where he enjoyed scuba diving and exploring ocean life with Jamie. He also loved sports, especially football (Go, Pack, Go!). He also loved his many pets that he shared with Jamie and Trent.
Predeceased by his parents and sister, Julie Firzlaff, Jimmy’s legacy is carried on by his loving wife of 25 years, Jamie, and his son, Trent. He is also survived by his two older brothers, Cory Firzlaff and Dan Firzlaff, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and special friends.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Jimmy’s memory on April 5, 2024 at 5 PM. The service will be held at Trinity Life Center, 1000 E. St. Louis Ave. Las Vegas, NV 89104. Reception to follow.
Jimmy will be remembered as a passionate lover of Christ who adored his wife and son, as well as the rest of his family, church family and friends. His encouraging spirit, larger than life personality and fire for God will never be forgotten, and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
