Jerrold Lund Cox, age 91, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023. He was born August 6, 1931 in St George, Utah. Jerrold graduated from Las Vegas High School, 1949, Dixie Junior College, 1951, and University of Nevada Reno, 1953, with a BSEE, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1959, he married Margie Call in the St. George, LDS Temple.
Jerrold is preceded in death by Owen and Grace Cox (parents), Carla (sister), Michael (brother) and Hanna (granddaughter). Jerry was a loyal, dedicated, and loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margie, six children, Cheryl (Donald) Schmidt, Loretta (Dennis) Holst, Steven (Danille) Cox, Angela DeSouza, Tiffany Cox, Amy (Scott) Jones, 24 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and his youngest brother, Shelby.
He was employed by General Electric Co. for the five years his family lived in Phoenix, Arizona, then relocated to Las Vegas and spent the next twenty four years through the end of his career with Computer Science Corp. Prior to his death he served several years with his wife at the Las Vegas LDS Temple. Throughout his life he faithfully served in a variety of church assignments and was a true example of Christlike service.
All are invited to Jerry’s memorial services that will be held at 11am, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, located at 5100 E. Sun Valley Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89122 (off So. Nellis Blvd., between Tropicana Ave. and Harmon Ave.). No visitation or viewing will be held.
