Janet Elaine Tibesar

Jan was born on October 7th, 1947, in Torrington, Wyoming to Perry and Mildred Hacker. She grew up in the small town of Torrington with her two brothers, James, and Bruce. She went on to study at The University of Wyoming where she met Robert Haugeto (now Tibesar) on a blind date. Bob and Jan were married on August 31st, 1969 and moved to Las Vegas in 1973. They raised two daughters, Jennifer, and Kara here in Las Vegas while running a successful construction company, for 20 years.

Jan was a passionate and loving wife, mother and proud grandma who lived a full and blessed life. She was smart, strong, fun-loving, and spiritual. Jan had a passion for creating. She was a maker. And while she had many hobbies in her lifetime, she was most content behind a sewing machine or with a needle in hand. Her gift for sewing is what lit the spark for Quiltique, the family business for the past 19 years. Jan made sure the debits and credits all lined up both at Tibesar Construction and Quiltique, working in the business right up to her final days.

Jan’s other true joy was her grandchildren. Kennedy, Aby, Donnell, and Hudson were her treasures. She loved watching them grow, celebrating every birthday and milestone and cheering them on from the sidelines. Family vacations at the beach and roller coasters at Disneyland with her grandkids were cherished times for her.

Jan’s marriage and relationship with Bob was one of her greatest accomplishments. It is a true and everlasting love. Bob and Jan recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary.

Although pulmonary fibrosis took her breath, it could never touch her heart. That heart will live with us forever.

A visitation for Janet will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89121. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 3720 E Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89121. A committal service will occur Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Palm Eastern Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
