He is survived by his daughter, Mary Duarte and her husband, Raul; his son, Pedro Alcantar, and his wife, Margo; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Isidro was born in Tuscon, Arizona on the 21st of April, 1918. He is the third of eight children born to Pedro and Cecilia Alcantar.
As a child, his family moved to Exeter, California where he worked on a farm. Then as a young adult, he met his future wife, Augustina prior to enlisting in the Army. In the Army he was sent to the Aleutian Islands to fight in World War II. When he returned home after the War, Isidro married Augustina, and started his family.
Isidro worked for the city of Beverly Hills for 25 years in the parks department and worked his way up to acting Superintendent at the time of his retirement. After his retirement, he was told to return back to work from his slightly annoyed wife and worked at Builder’s Emporium in Culver City. In 1990, Isidro moved to Las Vegas with his wife, daughter, and her family. He also worked at Ole’s in Las Vegas before officially retiring.
Gardening, reading, and snacking were his most favorite hobbies in the latter part of his life. He was a joy be around and loved to tell stories about his younger years. He was a good man that was devoted to his family and above all else, to his wife, Augustina. He will be greatly missed and has left a permanent mark on all who have met him.
Arrangements under the direction of Palm Downtown Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
