Harry Glen Bailiff of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away at 87 years surrounded by his children peacefully and on his own terms on October 7, 2024. He was born on February 9, 1937, to Virginia (Dyson) in New York (E. 163rd Street, the Bronx). He joined the US Navy at 17 and served our country for 22 years retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He then worked another 19 years in the Motion Picture Industry in and around Hollywood, California as a Teamster raising his family in Simi Valley, CA. Harry worked as a chef/cook his entire life as he never wanted to go hungry.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years who he met while stationed on Oahu, Hawaii, Taufao (Tamate), his sister Anastasia (Bailiff) of Connecticut, his sons Howard (Crystal) of Kaysville, Utah and Jacob of Las Vegas, Nevada, his daughter Letitia (Larry) of Henderson, Nevada, his grandsons Luke, Matthew, Locke, Lake, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Harry retired to Las Vegas in 1998 and enjoyed many years of playing golf, watching TV, movies, and sports, was a voracious reader, and loved his family and friends. He loved sweets and no cake or candy was safe around him.
Harry was a true New Yorker with the Aloha spirit and California style who found pleasure and peace in Las Vegas having lived an honorable and good life as a shining example to his family. He was deeply loved and will be missed forever.
