Eva Neubauer, age 89, a retired teacher, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2017 in Las Vegas. She was born in Czechoslovakia, where as a young (and an only) child escaped with her parents' right before Czechoslovakia was invaded during WWII and came to the United States. She loved classical music with a special place in her heart for opera. She loved to travel, loved her kids, grand-kids and friends. She taught at Sun Valley Middle School in Los Angeles for a few years until the opening of Grant High School (also in Los Angeles), where she specialized in European History and taught there for 25 years until she retired. She was known as a "tough-but-caring" teacher, was a wonderful correspondent and a voracious reader. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her sons, David, a Magician/Musician in Los Angeles and Paul, a famed Musician in New York, her grandchildren Jessica, Daniel, Elizabeth, Amanda, Laura, Oliver, Clara and Caylee, her extended family and life-long friends. According to her wishes, there will not be a memorial service. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Ray at Eden Memorial Park in Mission Hills, California.
