Erica Waggoner

Erica Michelle Waggoner, 36, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on July 19, 2016 after a very brave battle with cancer. Erica was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 15, 1980 to Michael and Karie Waggoner. Erica was a great athlete that competed in volleyball, track & field, basketball, and also had some great success as a beauty pageant contestant. Erica then lived in Great Falls, Montana where she graduated from Great Falls High School where her gravitating personality made her extremely popular and respected by her fellow students. Erica then attended Montana State University before she moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to pursue her undergraduate degree at Nova Southeastern University where she made an abundance of great friends that she maintained until her passing. Erica learned to bartend to support herself through college where she not only maintained a full bar each night, but was likely the life of the bar each and every night. Erica then attended Okaloosa-Walton College in northwest Florida to begin her pursuit of her nursing degree. She moved from Florida to Lake Havasu, Arizona to pursue her nursing degree at Mohave Community College where she graduated #1 in her class and received the prestigious Clinical Excellence Award that accompanies many accolades in addition to money for her after graduation. Erica then moved to Las Vegas to work as a nurse and be closer to her family. Erica worked in the Dignity Health Hospital Community where she was consistently nominated for awards, accolades, and promotions. Erica was a huge sports fan and had strong loyalties to the University of Miami Hurricanes and the Philadelphia Phillies. College football and basketball were her first loves. Erica also had a warm heart for animals including her love for her dogs Lacie and Brewster that both miss her dearly. Erica is greatly missed by her mother, brother and sister-in-law, 3 nieces, and 1 nephew, and aunts, uncles, and cousins; many reside in Las Vegas. Celebration of Erica’s life will be held on August 20, 2016.
