Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Cady, 88, a resident of Las Vegas for almost 20 years, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at home. Born June 11, 1926, in the little village of North Hornell, New York, to Francis and Ruth Hollman, she lived a long and full life. Her first husband, John "Jack" Warren, was killed in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Their daughter, Valerie Warren Robinson, of Throopsville, New York, was the first of her eight children. Betty later married Glenn A. Cady (deceased), of Auburn, New York, and together they had Glenn (Jim) Cady, of Las Vegas, Bruce Cady (deceased), Robert Cady of Suffolk, Virginia, Mary Ely of Las Vegas, Lance Cady of Auburn, Ralph Cady of Kent, Washington and Elaine Parnell of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was also proud to have 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Over the years, Betty worked with the WACs during World War II, worked as an electronics assembler for GE in Liverpool, New York, a real estate agent in Sumter, South Carolina and broker in Auburn. She retired as an IRS auditor in Ogden, Utah. She was an active volunteer as the secretary of the Conservative Committee in Cayuga County, New York, the emergency response coordinator for the Red Cross in Auburn, the food and clothing ministries of College Park Baptist Church in Las Vegas and for the Street Teens in Las Vegas. Betty was known for her smile, quick wit, fun spirit and, in her final years, her colorful hair. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, at Palm Mortuary-Eastern, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas.
