Leo was known for his sharp wit and sense of humor, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. Above all, he was deeply devoted to his family. He and his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Marguerite (Marge) Molinari, fostered hundreds of children during their time in Carson, California, leaving an indelible mark as dedicated and loving foster parents.
Leo met Marge when they were just 16 years old at a bakery in New York City where she worked. The two fell in love and were married soon after, beginning a lifelong journey together. Their love story was one of enduring devotion and partnership.
After moving to Carson, CA, Leo built a successful, 42 year career in the aerospace industry, working his way up at McDonnell Douglas and later Boeing. He took great pride in his work and was highly respected in his field.
In his free time, Leo was a passionate fan of Dodgers baseball and had a lifelong love of all things Disney, especially Mickey Mouse. He also enjoyed watching TV and movies, finding joy in simple pleasures and sharing them with family.
Leo is survived by his son Salvatore Molinari and wife Shirley of Carson, CA; his daughter Jerilee Buerck and husband Harry of Pahrump, NV; and his daughter Teri Garten and husband Bill of Carlsbad, CA. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Jennifer Molinari and Eric Wosick of Carson, CA; Jonathon Buerck of Hurricane, WV; Amy Fruman of Carlsbad, CA; Melanie Buerck of Pahrump, NV; and Elia Molinari of Merced, CA. Additionally, Leo is survived by eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He fiercely loved ALL his kids and spoke with them and of them often until his death.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Marge, the love of his life.
Per Leo’s wishes, a small, private memorial service will be planned at a later date.
