Effie Mae Johnson “Bae Bae”, age 91, of Los Angeles, California passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. Effie was born to Joe & Ida Mae Hutchins on, November 5, 1930 in Mexia, Texas. Effie recently relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Effie dedicated her life to God and his Church. She was a member and a Senior Usher, of Greater New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, CA for many decades. She will be deeply missed and remembered for her years of dedication and worship.
She worked for years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, at Fountain Gardens Convalescent Hospital, where she retired from 1997.
Effie had a wonderful sense of humor, she always said, "I could have been a comedian." She very much enjoyed watching her LA Lakers. She was a Domino Wiz player. Effie was known for making the best German Chocolate Cake. More than anything she loved her family unconditionally.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Joe & Ida Mae; Siblings, Artharee Sr., Sarah, Vera Lee, Andrew “A.J”, & R.L. She is survived by her Children, Darlene & Larry; Grandchildren, Gary, Marlena, Tenaya. Dwight, Douglas, Kendrick, & Quinn; Great Grandchildren, Thomas, Jordan, Janel, Tamara, Nicholas, Aniyah, Dominique, Annalina, Gianni, & Julian; Great Great Grandchild, Jah’khaili; and a host of Family and Close Friends.
She was always available to listen and share the best advice. Her messages to the family she leaves behind, “Believe in God, and have Faith” and “Do what’s Right”.
