Deann acquired a bachelor's degree in Business and Communications from Chatham College in Pittsburgh. She moved to the Las Vegas area in the late 1970’s and worked for several local funeral homes. Her small claim to fame is that she was the first licensed female embalmer in the state of Nevada.
She then reluctantly moved back to the Pittsburgh area (Vandergrift, PA) in 1982 with her then husband Rick Kleiger to help her father Dean open his second funeral home named Brady-Cline Funeral Home until 1997 when the business was sold.
From 1982-1997 Deann was also actively involved in the community in various ways. Being a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director of the local Red Cross, President of the town’s 1995 Centennial Celebration and various fundraising projects. Her passion for fundraising started after her daughter's Leukemia diagnosis in 1993. After moving back to Las Vegas in 1997 with her daughter Nevada Ashlyn (hence why she named her Nevada, she always loved the state of Nevada) she started working for Hites Funeral Home from 1997-1999. She then decided she would get back into another passion of hers, which was Non-Profit. She worked for various non-profit organizations throughout the years including Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, The Down Syndrome Organization of Southern Nevada and The Anti-Defamation League. Most recently and up until the time of her death, she worked for The King David Mortuary. Though she had let go of her Funeral Directors License some time ago she truly enjoyed being back in that industry in the capacity she was and the people she was privileged to work with.
Deann was also a tried-and-true Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. She also enjoyed her friends, spending time with her only daughter and grandchildren who she affectionately called “The Boos”, and of course her wine.
In addition to her parents, a brother, Derek W. Cline, who died Nov. 6, 2008, preceded her in death.
Her daughter, Nevada Ashlyn Bambauer, of Henderson, NV; two grandchildren Everett and Tessa Bambauer; a brother, William W. Cline II, of Salt Lake City, UT; and her aunt, Charlotte A. Kalenack, of Oxnard, CA, survive her.
Please join the family for food, drinks and a little video poker in honor of Deann at The Lodge at St. Rose (3540 St. Rose Parkway Henderson, NV 89052) immediately following the services from 3:00-5:00 pm.
