David Levy, 86, of Las Vegas was born October 1, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Etta and Phillip Levy and passed away on February 23, 2018. David, a 24-year resident of Las Vegas, enjoyed his family above all else. His marriage of 58 years to Sheila (nee Schero) and his three children were his proudest achievements. The consummate family man, he was never more happy than when he was surrounded by those closest to him. With a quick wit, his ability to make every occasion one filled with humor was one of his greatest gifts. David also proudly served in the US Coast Guard.
David is survived by his beloved wife, of 58 years, Sheila; daughter Debbie (Ervin) Kral of Las Vegas, sons Mark (Jovanna) and Dan (Laura) both of Flossmoor, IL. He also leaves behind five devoted and beloved grandchildren Ethan and Rachael Kral; Hannah and Nolan Levy; and Caden Levy; and his favorite performer, great-granddaughter Kennedy Kral.
Memorial service will take place at Palm Mortuary (7400 W. Cheyenne) on Saturday, March 10th, at 10:00 a.m. Following the service, we will gather to celebrate David's life at Debbie and Ervin's home. There will also be a follow-up celebration at the lake this summer for all of David's Chicago friends and family.
Donations in David's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
