I am speechless, my condolence goes out to his wife and daughter. Doctor Wartiz was our family doctor for over 10 years! He was through,  very thoughtful and always looked out for his patients. He will be deeply missed!

Word can not express the way , I feel , he was my Dr. but he was not just my Dr. there was no other one like him, I will never find another like him , I call today to make appointment to see him and I was told that he pass away my heart hurt so much . I'm so sorry for your loss and for Katie's loss. Dr. Wirtz was my doctor for several years and was one of the best doctors I've ever had. He helped me so much with pain and medical issues over the years and always made me feel heard. 

It's sad that you almost want to distrust someone so kind and caring. Most doctors do not care that much. Over time I began to realize it was genuine and because of an actual love of medicine and desire to heal. 

He will be very missed by me and I'm sure all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

My name is George Wirtz. I am Darren’s uncle through his dad, Ivan Eugene Wirtz, who was my half-brother. Gene and I were sons of Maxine Wirtz.
I’m so very sorry to hear of Darren’s passing. I regret that we didn’t have much time together over the years. The last time I saw Darren was at his graduation from medical school. We were all very proud. He later sent me pictures of his family and we shared words of encouragement. 
My family wants to express their prayers and condolences to Lily and Katie. My brothers Kim and Mark Wirtz here in Texas also want to express their sorrow for your loss. 


I was a patient of Dr Wirtz for about  a year and a half Dr Wirtz was a blessing to my neck and back pain . I was so completely surprised and heartbroken to hear of his passing . My prayers and blessings go out to his family friends and loved ones.

I was so saddened to hear the news of Dr. Wirtz passing.  I knew Dr. Wirtz for many many years.  He, of course, helped me with the same care as he helped many others.  I will truly miss the experiences I was fortunate to share with him.  He was a great listener and someone to share confidences with.  My heart is heavy and he will be missed. My deepest sympathy to you at this difficult time. 
I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciated the care I always received from Doctor Darren, from you and your staff when ever I visited your office. Darren was the best doctor I ever had and I felt he took a personal interest in what ever my needs were. He always made time to to listen and I could tell that he really cared for his patients.
There was always a real family feel at your office and I know that I will never find another doctor that will measure up to the care I received from Doctor Darren . 
He will be greatly missed.

Dr. Wirtz was my doctor for many years.  He will be missed. 

I've only know Dr. Wirtz since February, 2021.  He was my weight loss doctor - I saw him once a month, and every time I came to the office, he said, "I've never seen you look better!" He was a wonderful person, always complimentary, always upbeat, sharing stories of his beautiful wife and daughter.  Visiting his office was like going to your friends for a visit.   I know I'll have to get another doctor, but I'll be thinking, "He's ok, but he's not Dr. Wirtz...."

To Lily and Katie, so sorry for your loss - - a loss that affects so many including my family!  Such a great doctor who really cared about his patients.  He will be missed by so many but mostly his beautiful wife and daughter, sincere condolences from Bob and Elaine.

Lily, you may not remember me. But, we met at the first class reunion that you attended, in Craig.  I love Darren, and please know you are in my prayers. I cannot imagine what you’re going through. The memories you have are yours. And thankfully those cannot be taken from you.

We are so saddened to hear of Dr. Wirtz’s passing. He was so very thoughtful in his caring for our family, especially our adult mentally challenged son. We were thankful to have been treated by him.

Dr Wirtz was my doctor for many years and was one of the most caring and thorough doctors I've ever had. When he opened his own practice, it was always such a delight to see how happy and relaxed the atmosphere was particularly when Lily and Katy were there.  My sincerest condolences to Lily and Katy and family.  He will be greatly missed.

To My Sweet Cousin, 
After several long years of not seeing each other, we found each other a few years ago. Along with finding you, we got to meet your beautiful wife, Lily and precious daughter, Katie.  We will so remember the Christmas you and your sweet girls spent in Meeker with my family, playing in the snow, and doing some serious visiting.  We will so remember the strolls down Main Street in Grand Junction on our family outings. We are heartbroken that we will not be able to see you again. We will keep in touch with Lily and Katie as they are our family now and always.

Lots of memories from high school.  There is Darren wrestling.  There he is playing football.  There he is pole vaulting in track!  And there he is playing basketball.  What an athlete, and a scrapper too...true "alpha male."  Mr. Popular, Class President, and I am proud that he considered me a friend.  Academically, he was a whiz, too. 

It was great catching up with him in GJ when I passed through on my motorcycle...geesh when was that?  Maybe 2001 big trip.  And seeing him again in 2013 and 2018 at the HS reunions.  It was a pleasure to meet his family.
