Daniel Wayne Butler, age 75, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 after a brief illness. Dan was born to parents Voris and Pearl Butler on March 16, 1949 in Imperial, California. In 1965, while in San Jose, California, Dan met Janice (Jan) Henley. Dan and Jan would marry in 1967 at the Silver Bells Chapel in Reno, Nevada. In October 1967, while in California, they would welcome their first son, David, and in 1969 would welcome their second son, Michael. In 1972 Dan and Jan had their third son, Daniel. Also in 1972, Dan would begin his career in construction as an apprentice carpenter. In 1975, Dan would complete his carpentry apprentice and become a journeyman carpenter. It was at this time the family relocated to Visalia, California and Dan become a framing contractor. Dan's career would progress from framing contractor to general contractor and in the early 1990's he became a State Inspector of Schools and Hospitals. He would remain in this position until his retirement in 2016. In his retirement, Dan enjoyed traveling with Jan in their RV. The couple traveled all over the US, most notably Yellow Stone National Park, Mount Rushmore, Deadwood, Sturgis, Little Big Horn, and all over Texas, Arkansas and Missouri.
Dan will be remembered by his family and friends as a loving, wonderful man who was always telling jokes. He was an excellent craftsman and very detail oriented. He loved using his talents to help others.
Dan was a member of the ACIA - Construction Inspectors Certification and Education.
In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in passing by siblings, Virgil Butler, Authur Butler, David Butler, and Billy Butler.
Dan is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jan Butler; sons, David (Lisa) Butler, Michael (Jean) Butler, Daniel (Dee) Butler; grandchildren, Nicholas (Alyssa) Butler, Breanna (Lenny) Watson, Shelbie (Brad) Martin, Shane Butler, and Jordan (Brianna) Butler; great grandchildren, Charlotte Watson, Dustin Martin, Conner Martin; two great grandchildren on the way, Sophie Martin and Aubrey Butler; siblings, Truman Butler, Betty Grace, and Gary Butler.
