This is a comforting message we found on Pearl Worthen's obituary. We think it's appropriate to help heal the hurt we all feel, and hope this is how we will be remembered. 
When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me I want no glitz in a gloom-filled room. Why cry for a soul that's set free? Miss me a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared. Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey that we all must take, and each must go alone. It's all a part of the Master's plan, a step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we knew and laugh at the things that we used to do. Miss me, but let me go.

You were an amazing father and an amazing spouse to Jen. You will always be remembered as the cool relaxed uncle who always wanted to have fun. I miss you deeply and I think about you often. I will cherish the memories I have of you forever and always. I love you Dan. Till we meet again.

To Our Son Dan,

Through the emotions of our hearts and the tears of our eyes, how much more would they be multiplied to have our faith confirmed that our son's soul and spirit are saved for all eternity. We would think a thousand times more, because we believe in the forgiveness given by the grace of Jesus' sacrifice. For our son Dan we believe. For ours and our loved ones we believe. Oh Dan, we miss you so much, and promise to keep your goodness and your love alive in the hearts and minds of all of us who loved you so much. Rest In Peace our beloved son.

I send my deepest condolences to The Grant Family, and wish upon them God's bravery and strength to persevere through such a hardship as devastating as this. I met Dan only once, but the little time I did spend with him felt as if I had known him for ages. He was such a kind person and a friend to all. May God bless his soul and give him eternal peace.

Memories of a son...Danny's love of salt started at an early age, maybe 3-4 yrs.  When we'd be at the beach he'd grab the foam from a breaking wave and eat it.  When I asked him why, he said 'cause it's salty'.  We finally got him to stop by telling him he was probably eating fish poop!  Then he moved on to salt shakers.  In restaurants or at home, he'd shake it into his hand and eat it or just suck on the lids. Most Moms hide the cookies and candy, not me, I hid the salt shakers. Chips and pretzels were next.  Do you have any idea how gross it is to pop chips into your mouth and part of them are soggy? We finally found a small salt lick (that didn't weigh 25 lbs) and put it on a string necklace, so he could have a lick of salt whenever he wanted.  Ava, I understand you would 'borrow' it from him on occasion. Guess you got your love of salt from your Daddy.  We miss him everyday.  Love you so much.  Grandma

Dan was a perfect playmate for Ava because he was a kid at heart.   He was there for her during those critical years when kids always wanted to play.  He was not only a great Dad, but also like the brother she never had.  I know he had so much love for his family.  And he had a contagious smile.  You will be miss by all.

I will never forget the time we all met down in PCB.  Dan was the life of the party. He loved everything about the ocean and beach.  He was a great dad, husband and friend among other things. Dan was simply an all around awesome person. My heart and prayers goes out to his loved ones and to everyone that has a special place in their heart for Dan.
