Born on January 2nd, 1962 in San Antonio, Texas to Elaine K. McGinness and Rollo McGinness, Curt was a kind, gentle, warm-hearted soul from the beginning to the end. Growing up, he was a foster sibling to over 100 children who his parents had chosen to foster in their home. It was no surprise how Curt came to be such a great conversationalist. Known for caring so deeply about each individual encounter without clutching to things he enjoyed; all the while accepting and loving people he never would have known otherwise. Curt was a strong human spirit.
Educated at the University of Montana, where he received a full ride athletic scholarship to play football, Curt earned the nickname “Skinny” as he looked more like a track athlete rather than a quarterback. Not only was Curt notorious for his love of sports and abilities, he was also known for his big heart. At first glance, Curt could easily be seen as tall and intimidating with a large stature. Underneath it all, he was just a big guy with a big heart. Others would say he was a large teddy bear and a softy.
He will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him, including his adoring wife, Ani Marie McGinness; children Carson K. McGinness and John Norman Bigart IV, and his granddaughter, Adelyne Marie McGinness.
The family wishes to thank Dignity Memorial for its thoughtful service.
