With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Chong Cha Yoro on April 11th, 2025 in her home due to Neuroendocrine Cancer in her 68th year. She was born on May 8th, 1956 in Onyang-Dong, South Korea.
Chong was born and raised in South Korea and moved to Honolulu, Hawaii when she was in her 20s. That's where she met her husband, Alfonso Yoro. They opened Yoro's Fish Market near Aloha Stadium for over ten years. On January 3rd, 1990, her daughter Janine Yoro was born. In 1998 the three moved to Las Vegas where Chong became a table games dealer and retired with Boyd Gaming.
Chong was a sincerely beautiful person inside and out. She had an amazing sense of humor and passion for her family. Chong loved to share her amazing cooking skills. She made Korean food as well as Filipino dishes she learned in Hawaii.
Cherished wife of Alfonso Yoro, daughter, Janine Yoro; sister and husband Mi Ja and Tae Gil Kim and their son Min Su Kim; step daughter, Kathy and her son, Jaeden; step daughter and husband, Tanya and Scott. Niece and husband, Justine and Sean, and their beautiful children. All of them and more she loved with her whole heart.
Chong Yoro will be cremated and requested not to have a formal service.
