Charles L. Silverman, of Las Vegas, passed away on September 22, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada due to conditions related to Parkinson’s Disease.He was born on September 20, 1932 in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of Max and Etta Silverman. Silverman graduated from Rutgers University in 1954 with a degree in history. He made his start at Albert Parvin & Co. and later joined with fellow Parvin interior designer Bill Yates to form Yates-Silverman, Inc. in 1971. Silverman will be remembered as an icon in the commercial interior design industry and an innovator in themed casino design. His design creations can be found all over the Las Vegas Strip and around the globe.Family and faith came foremost in his life. He enjoyed driving and collecting sports cars, playing golf, deep sea fishing and spending time on one of the many boats he has captained over the years.Silverman was the widower of Mona Silverman. They shared over 50 years of marriage together. He is survived by their two daughters, Margot Silverman-Schumacher of Las Vegas, Nevada and Marcy Horky of Los Angeles, California and son-in-law Robert E. Schumacher. He was the proud grandfather of Robert M. Schumacher, Carson Horky and Chance Horky. He is also survived by his sister Ellen Thomas, her children Pam, Hilary and Greg and their families.In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Cleveland Clinic, Lou Revo Center for Brain Health, 888 West Bonneville Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89106 and Nathan Adelson Hospice, 3150 North Tenaya Way Suite 350, Las Vegas, Nevada 89128. The funeral and burial will be at 2pm on Friday, September 25 at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas 89120.
