Charles Albert Klevanosky was born on January 7, 1940, to John Klevanosky and Philomenia Pascarella of Williston Park, New York. He married his beloved wife, Doreen, on November 5, 1960, at the age of 20. He worked as a Store Director for Hills and Faith Supermarkets from 1958-1968. He moved from Central Islip, New York to Manhattan Beach, California in July 1968. He was very active at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church; serving as an elder, deacon and treasurer. He retired on January 1, 2001, after working 32 years for Ralphs Grocery Company. In May 2001, he moved to Sun City Anthem, Henderson, Nevada, where he enjoyed time woodworking, golfing, fishing, playing bocce ball, computer games, penny slots, going to Wranglers hockey games and cheering on his Green Bay Packers football team. He had a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed barbecues, parties, camping, amusement parks, and traveling; with Christmas being his favorite holiday. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. Charles is preceded in death by his father, John Klevanosky; mother Philomenia Pascarella; and niece Jean Marie Klevanosky. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Doreen, of 51 years; daughters: Donna (Mark) Mitchell of Vista, California; Carleen Klevanosky of Las Vegas, Nevada; Jodi (Ray) Bancroft of Lakewood, California; mother-in-law, Dorothy Baird of Henderson, Nevada; grandchildren: Brandyn Figueroa, Kurt Figueroa, Shane Figueroa, Andrew Mitchell, and Ashleigh Mitchell; sister, Sophie (Jim) Mahoney of Northport, New York; brother, John (Lucille) Klevanosky of Naples, Florida; and many nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews to cherish his memory. The family requests any gifts, flowers or memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) in his name. A Celebration of Life will be held at the family residence on May 19, 2012 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, with cremation and burial at Palm Memorial Park set for a later date.
