It’s no surprise that Gata brought infinite smiles and tons of laughter to all those around him. He truly was an “April fool,” blessing this world on April 1st, 1966. He was born in Fresno, California to Cecil Sr. and Beatrice Abeyta as their first-born son. He then became the oldest brother to Brian Abeyta, and Aaron Abeyta. Gata loved his family very much. On November 17, 2020 Gata lost an extensive and challenging battle to cancer. He was 54 years old.
Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Gata managed his illness with valiant strength and determination, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his family, who he adored more than anything else in the world –besides the Green Bay Packers.
From the time Gata was young he was constantly involved in sports and athletics. He lived and breathed Varsity football at Clark High School. Gata would truly leave it all on the field with his unmatched strength and passion for the game. This passion only increased as he grew older, creating a life that quite literally revolved around the Green Bay Packers.
Utilizing his extreme mathematical skills, Gata became a Chief Land Surveyor for the city of Las Vegas leaving his touch on major landmarks such as the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, City Center, Las Vegas Ball Park, numerous housing communities, and much more. His parents, Bea and Cecil Sr., loved him more than life itself and were immeasurably proud of Gata and all of his life accomplishments.
Gata was most proud of his daughter, Stephanie Abeyta. Stephanie and Gata were very close, and often enjoyed being together with the family on Sundays watching their favorite team –The Green Bay Packers. Gata created a world and life around the Green Bay Packers, representing the team logo on literally every item he owned. His daughter inherited his passion and love for the Packers, and remain true dedicated fans for life.
Gata will be greatly missed and will be loved forever. Rest in Peace Gata.
