Calvin E. Slay
Calvin was the Son of the late Eddie Slay and Bessie Lee Slay who preceded him in death. Preceding him in death also includes a Brother, Curtis Slay, and a Sister Maxine Franklin.
Calvin was born in Jackson, Mississippi where he attended school and Tugaloo College. Calvin entered the military and was honorably discharged, then relocated to Las Vegas in 1961. Calvin’s occupation in Las Vegas was Construction Millwright from which he retired. He was a proud member of “United Brotherhood of Carpenters,” “Joiners of America.” Local 1607, member for 50 years. Calvin was gifted with a great sense of humor and had a very friendly spirit. He enjoyed cooking, listening to “Blues” music, playing Dominoes, and talking about the Old Days. He never met a stranger, always found good in everyone.

Wife Andrea Thornton-Slay, Sons Jefferey Davis (Janet), Ausby Slay (LaSonya), Cedric Boatwright, and “Son-in-love” Kenneth Hall, Brother Clifton Slay, Sister Lillian Davis, a host of grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
