Bernice Zimmerman, 93, a woman who danced through life, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. She was born on February 13, 1921, in Brooklyn, NY, to Louis and Marietta Halperin and lived in Las Vegas for 40 years. Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nathan Zimmerman; sister, Phyllis Cohn; and brother, Stanley Halperin. She is survived by her two daughters, Roberta (Peter) Hirschhorn of Elephant Butte, NM and Shelley (Kim) Goldenberg of Bellbrook, OH; sister, Shirley Glick-Shack of Scottsdale, AZ; brother, Harris Halperin of Las Vegas, NV, five grandchildren, Craig, Staci, Shari, Estee and Aaron; and five great-grandchildren, Jack, Mason, Eden, Naomi and Saul. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at King David Memorial Chapel, Las Vegas, NV. Burial will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, NV on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 10:40AM. Family requests that memorial donations be sent to The American Heart Association. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
