Bennie Joe Mitchell, 73, of Las Vegas, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012. He was born March 31, 1938, in South Pittsburg, Tenn., and was a resident of Las Vegas for over 35 years. Bennie was retired from the U.S. Air Force and Nevada Energy. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. No matter what you needed, Bennie was there for you. He knew how to put a smile on one's face. Bennie is survived by his beloved wife, Celia; sister, Barbara Jean; three daughters; two sons; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and host of nieces and nephews in Las Vegas and Tennessee. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m., Friday, March 2, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., Las Vegas. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 3, at Ebenezer Church of God in Christ, 1072 W. Bartlett Ave. Graveside services following at Palm Memorial Park, 1325 N. Main St.
