Ben “Cheyenne” Hlady, 82, passed away Saturday, Jan 21st in Las Vegas, NV. A native of Canada, and consummate hockey fan, he was a Journeyman Wireman with the IBEW for 60 years. Memorable projects include the MX missile silos in Cheyenne, WY. and Alaska’s pipeline in Prudhoe Bay. Since 1970, via Local 357, Cheyenne helped electrify many of the hotels and casinos on the L.V. Strip. Cheyenne was an avid skier, and life time member of Las Vegas Ski Club, pursuing his passion in the world’s best ski resorts. He was known for his practical jokes, and his many stories of world travel. He is survived by his sisters, Ella Gowriluk, Mary Laurent, Elaine McEwen, Edna Zurbuchen; brother Paul Hlady and his son, Michael. He was predeceased by his son Patrick in 1985, and later, his sister Anita Hlady, and brother Dave Hlady. Viewing and memorial are February 17th. 4PM-7PM. at Palm South Jones Mortuary-1600 S. Jones. Funeral Services are February 18th, with interment directly following at Bunker Memorial on Lone Mountain, 7251 W Lone Mountain Rd, Las Vegas.
