Barbara Jean Murphy, age 73, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024. Barb was born June 25, 1950 in Gainesville, Texas to parents Raymond Laux and Nina (Laux) Bardsley. Barb spent her childhood in Texas before moving to California where she spent her young adulthood. In the early 1970's she moved to Nevada. While in Nevada, Barb spent her time raising her two daughters: Bobbie and Miranda. She also worked a career as in Medical Billing. She retired in 2016 and in her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Her family and friends remember Barb for her funny personality and creative language.
She loved to cook and was especially known for her fried foods and roasts. She loved spending time with her family and friends playing bingo and bowling. She loved hosting family dinners where she enjoyed having her family together. She was an incredibly talented person who was skilled at sewing, cooking, and crocheting.
In addition to her father, Barb is preceded in passing by her granddaughter Hailey Angel Pearce; siblings David "Boots" Laux, Delores "Lores" Erickson and Tommy Joe Laux; and Finn (her beloved rescue tabby cat who passed shortly before Barb).
Barbara is survived by her daughters Bobbie Alexander and Miranda (Jeff) Pearce; mother Nina Bardsley; Bryce Black, Brennen Alexander, Chloe Bruce, Kylee Pearce, Kaytie Pearce and Draven Suarez; great grandson Grayson Black; siblings Kenny (Shirley) Laux, Jerry (Colette) Laux, Betty Gunnoe, Bill (Monica) Laux and Curt (Karen) Laux; and a host of nieces and nephews.
