Rose O “Kitty”Houston, 87, of Las Vegas, passed away January 15, 2017. Her beloved daughter Barbara Lee Houston, 69, followed to join her on January 16, 2017. Rose was born in Memphis, TN November 1, 1929 to James and Marie O’Linger. She was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Ralph D. Houston, as well as her brother James O’Linger and sister Dorothy Elizabeth Billings. Rose is survived by her children, James Houston and Rose Sanders, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild and many dear friends. Her daughter, Barbara Lee, passed shortly after Rose. They were always together and they are reunited once again. Barbara is also survived by siblings James Houston and Rose Sanders, many nieces and nephews, and family friends. Rose was a hard worker having worked for EPA for many years, with a total of 48 years of service with the federal government, and owned local businesses to include ceramic and tole painting shops. Barbara had a passion for movies, cooking, and her dogs, and she took great joy in caring for all of the children in the family. A Celebration of Life will be held in both of their honors Saturday, January 21, 2017, 2 O’clock in the afternoon at Palm Eastern Mortuary and Cemetery, 7600 S Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123.
