Barbara Jean Smith Hall

Barbara Hall was born on September 6, 1926 in South Gate, California, the second of five children, to Jason Clemen Smith and Inez Wright. Her older brother, Jason Wayne, passed away at the age of four. Her younger siblings include brother Donald Everett, sister Evelyn Lorraine (Johnson) and brother Eldon Ronald Smith.

She married Jack Gilbert Hall on November 20, 1951 in the Mesa Arizona Temple. During the course of their lives together they lived in Southgate, the Bay Area, Torrance, Buena Park and Fullerton, California. In 2004, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada.

Barbara was devoted to her family. She and Jack had six children: Stephen Douglas (Valerie), Linda Susan (Robert Condie), Jackie, who died shortly after birth, Kathleen Anne (Martin Bretzing), Nancy Leigh (Carl Stay), and Julie Lynn (Kerry O’Brien).

Barbara passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. At the time of her passing her posterity numbered 76 people. She is survived by five of her six children, 23 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, daughter Jackie, brother Jason Wayne, sister Lorraine, and son-in-law Martin Bretzing.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9580 Peace Way, Las Vegas, Nevada. Burial services will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Payson City Cemetery in Payson, Utah.
